Rhododendron Week: The Propagation and Cultivation of Rhododendrons

Rhododendron Week: The Propagation and Cultivation of Rhododendrons

A talk with Richard Baines, Curator of Logan Botanic Gardens, as part of the Rhododendron Festival. Learn about both seed and vegetative propagation of the genus Rhododendron. The talk will cover techniques, useful tips, advantages and disadvantages of each method, timings and equipment required. In early April, the Gardens at Kilmacurragh are marked by the splendour of their two centuries old Rhododendron collection bursting into flower. This year, the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland and the Office of Public Works are delighted to present a Rhododendron Festival, in collaboration with the RHS Rhododendron, Camellia & Magnolia Group. The Festival runs online from 12-19 April. We have a series of video stories and online talks to be launched every day of the week. See www.botanicgardens.ie for more information.
