Why bugs matter
Insects make up over half the species on Earth and our planet’s health depends on them. But their populations are disappearing, and fast. In this talk, we will explore the importance of ‘bugs’ in how habitat ecosystems function and also take a look at some examples of complex lifecycles to illustrate how vulnerable some species are to rapid changes in their environment. Much of the talk will be based on general, world-wide principles, but specific examples of invertebrate lifestyles will focus on Suffolk species.
This Suffolk Wildlife Trust online talk with Adrian Knowles will touch on what we can all do at home, in our local communities, and at school or work to support insects and help prevent their further decline.
