Historic Gardens of the City of London

Historic Gardens of the City of London

The City of London has around 200 open spaces or gardens. They include churchyards, bombsites, street planters, troughs, a converted coach park, window boxes and even traffic islands. There are around 1000 trees - made up of about 150 species including tulip, handkerchief, foxglove, cherry, lime and even strawberry. Many people fail to notice just how 'green' the city is. Join City Garden Walks on a tour of some of the gardens, see the wealth and variety of the plants and trees, hear the stories and see if you can find any street corner from where you cannot see anything 'green'.
