Seeing the Woods for the Trees

Seeing the Woods for the Trees

Seeing the Woods for the Trees - the Secret History of Lambeth's Parks and Open Spaces talk by Lambeth Libraries.
Lambeth's public parks, commons and other recreational open spaces are home to an amazing diversity of buildings, landscapes, horticultural and wildlife features, many of which are highly visible and open to public access and enjoyment. However, there's other buildings or features, often hidden from view or not publicly accessible, yet still have an astonishing history as to how they came to be built or what they were used for. Moreover, quite a few of those buildings and landscapes that we can see and sometimes take for granted in Lambeth's parks and open spaces have their own secrets, not just in what they were used for but also how they were constructed and the people who built and used them.
