Let's Talk About Our Trees
Celebrating National Tree week this talk will look at of the absolute importance of Irish woodlands. Éanna Ní Lamhna will outline the current situation for woodlands, explain what is meant by Native tree species and the important roles they play in maintaining biodiversity. She will also emphasise the importance of all tree species in removing carbon dioxide from the air to combat climate change and will explain how conifers, which grow all the year round, do this at twice the rate deciduous trees do.
