Join Dr James Hitchmough, Professor of Horticultural Ecology at the University of Sheffield and @wildsheffieldandrotherham for an informative, topical and critical lecture entitled 'What can the designed landscape contribute to Nature Conservation? The lecture will explore this question in the context of some of the current challenges to traditional nature conservation perspectives, notably climate change and the growing interest in rewilding perspectives. Both of these question notions of nature conservation based on always looking to the past for precedents to guide practice - Is a more interventionist, more fluid nature conservation now required?
