Black Nature in Residence Showcase
identity on tyne, in partnership with Northumberland National Park, Harehope Quarry Project, Durham Wildlife Trust and Northumberland Wildlife Trust offered the opportunity for four writers of colour, Sheree Mack, Wajid Hussain, Jola Olafimihan and Niveen Kassem, to be in residence in the North East countryside, exploring people of colour’s relationship with nature, their connections and disconnections, their ancestral knowledge and their healing. This project offered time and space to look beyond the beauty of the places on their doorstep to discover the hidden histories within.
For this showcase evening, come and enjoy hearing about the writers experiences of being at their different sites and being within the countryside; the people, they met and talked to as well as how this was all transformed into their creative practice.
