Rhododendron Week: A Spring Visit to the Sikkim Himalaya
A talk with Seamus O'Brien, Head Gardener, National Botanic Gardens of Ireland, as part of Rhododendron Week. Séamus will recount his Spring visit to Sikkim, Himalaya, retracing routes of the famous Victorian botanist Sir Joseph Dalton Hooker. In early April, the Gardens at Kilmacurragh are marked by the splendour of their two centuries old Rhododendron collection bursting into flower. This year, the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland and the Office of Public Works are delighted to present a Rhododendron Festival, in collaboration with the RHS Rhododendron, Camellia & Magnolia Group. The Festival runs online from 12-19 April. We have a series of video stories and online talks to be launched every day of the week. See www.botanicgardens.ie for more information.
