The Sustainable Designer - Experiments with landscape
LCGD course Experiments with landscape using innovative design techniques for sustainability.
2 days over 2 consecutive Saturdays. This course will introduce designers to alternative approaches in planting and garden design. It will tackle a range of approaches including the idea of wilding and soil remediation and aims to equip students to use some of the theory around this to inform their design choices.
As well as wilding, at the opposite end of the sustainability spectrum, we will also explore soil-less growing and explore how a ‘wilded’ world, and a soil-less world, could inform design in the future.
Mima Taylor's experience with urban parks, show gardens and community involvement - as well as commercial growing - will form the backdrop to the exploration of these ideas. Ideas will be explored from a designers perspective with practical explorations of how these big, new ideas can be and are incorporated into Garden Design.
