Landscape diversity for Food Security
Despite the increasing recognition of the need for substantial change in the global food system, there is currently a lack of understanding regarding the viable pathways for such a transformative change. This is primarily because the food system is organised around large-scale, commercial, and intensive farming that is focused on maximising production. Alternatives to the current mode of farming, food production, and food supply are available but are often marginalised in the global food system. The main objective of the Open University CATAPULT project is to identify pathways for food system transformation such that environmental concerns, nutritional needs, and cultural traditions of the world’s growing population are foregrounded. In this workshop share your experiences and thoughts on how the food systems in the UK can be tranformed at landscape scale.
