Politics of Street Trees
Sheffield has transformed into one of the Tree Cities of the World in 2022, despite, or because of, the fight to save its trees. The health, wellbeing and environmental benefits of street trees are well-known, but these are in competition with other realities of our urban lives – limited space, traffic and utilities. A wide-ranging panel of Sheffield based practitioners, politicians, activists and academics discuss the history and context of Sheffield’s street trees and the recent crisis. Univertity of Sheffield Off The Shelf Festival of Words conversation with Dr Camilla Allen, Nicola Dempsey, Matthew Flinders, Dr Ross Cameron.
