Michael Marder: 'Plant Habitats'
Plant Habitats' is the first in a series of public events organised by Into The Trees, featuring Michael Marder, philosopher, academic and authour whose works include Plant-Thinking: A Philosophy of Vegetal Life (2013), The Philosopher's Plant: An Intellectual Herbarium (2014), Dust (2016), Through Vegetal Being: Two Philosophical Perspectives (2018, with Luce Irigaray. His talk will investigate the nature of habitats - 'By scrutinizing plant habitats, we do not merely add a missing link to the conceptual chains of environmental philosophy or ecological theory; we go to the heart of the matter, inquiring into the dynamics of inhabiting.'
