The Perennial Ground Layer: Context and Creativity

Herbaceous perennials can do much more than simply add color. Thoughtfully orchestrated herbaceous compositions can define the experiential character of an entire landscape. In this NDAL session Larry Weaner and Piet Oudolf will compare and contrast their respective approaches to site analysis, plant selection and arrangement, and management considerations through a commingled series of presentations and informal conversations. They will provide a behind the scenes, granular look at how they weave the creative with the practical to create mood-evoking yet viable perennial compositions.
