From the Convict Years to the Modern Era - Art Down Under continues to flourish in the 21st century. This talk hosted by the @guildhalllibrary discusses Immigrant artists’ responses to this strange new continent which were initially seen through European, and especially British, artistic traditions but as the 19th century progressed they found their own artistic language through, which to respond to the unique landscape and culture Down Under.
