Knowledge Exchange in Practice: The Field of British Landscape
This discussion centres on different forms of engagement with British landscape in English literature, heritage organisations and the arts. Topics will include John Constable’s print series, English Landscape; cultural responses to English weather and landscape through the ages; the power of art to draw attention to the plight of fragile species and climate change; as well as landscape art and artistic legacy building.
The session will be led by Katharine Martin, art historian and former V&A curator, in conversation with Professor Alexandra Harris, Professorial Fellow in English at the University of Birmingham; artist, Sarah Gillespie; Dr Emily Knight, Curator at Petworth House.
