The book 'Intertidal' is a diary of deep observations of life on coasts and coastal wetlands, and taking action for them. With stories from the field and excerpts from the book, this talk will explore the Intertidal as a region with species-rich ecology, as a precious landscape that is threatened by human activities, as a powerful metaphor, and as a practice of attention to observe life with.
Yuvan Aves is a writer, educator, naturalist, and activist based in Chennai, India. He writes at the intersection of ecology, education, and human consciousness. He is the author of two books and the recipient of the M Krishnan Memorial Nature Writing Award. Linnean Society talk.
