Olivier Filippi - Bringing the Mediterranean Landscape into your garden

Olivier Filippi - Bringing the Mediterranean Landscape into your garden

Olivier Filippi has been running a nursery specifically focusing on drought-resistant plants for over twenty years. His frequent travels with his wife, Clara, to conduct research in the dry regions around the globe have also given him a high level of knowledge and expertise in the field. His talk is about creating drought tolerant gardens and is inspired by his lifetime of research on plants and Mediterranean landscapes. He is an acknowledged world authority on Dry Gardening where beauty is not compromised in the search for maximum water efficiency and appropriate plant choices. Olivier says "By working with - rather than against - drought, we can make remarkable gardens that are both beautiful and original."
Climate change is a reality for us all, including gardeners, landscapers and professionals working in horticulture. The Filippi nursery also has a demonstration garden full of texture and colour that changes with each season but retains its harmonious structure throughout the year. This garden and the online catalogue provide a world class resource and in Olivier we have an inspirational and generous teacher.
