Head Gardeners of the Future? Round Table Discussion
This Gardens Trust session will be chaired by Kate Nicoll. With experience as a head gardener, nursery owner and National Trust garden training specialist, Kate is a regional manager for WRAGS (the Work and Retrain As a Gardener Scheme), and workshop coordinator for the Erasmus+ project ‘Craft Skills for Garden Conservation’ https://gardenconservation.eu, running workshops on the horticultural skills needed in the heritage sector for a consortium of gardens and colleges in Europe and the UK. She is also a trustee of the Professional Gardeners Trust, an Assistant County Organiser for the National Gardens Scheme, and a member of the steering group for the Historic and Botanic Garden Training Programme.
Contributors will include Emma McNamara, National Trust horticulture development specialist; Mick Brown, production garden manager at Chatsworth with a background in horticultural training and development in the gardens; and Lisa Peter, Horticultural Engagement Manager from the RHS Learning Team. As well as the roundtable discussion, there will be opportunities for questions from the audience.
