Bridging the gap between architecture and landscape

Bridging the gap between architecture and landscape

Ibrahim Diaz of Grant Associates will be talking about three elements that he believes influence the UK’s contemporary landscape: the gardening culture, the architect, and the political stance towards public space.
Ibrahim will explore how landscape is more than an accessory to complement a building, or choosing the right plants and trees, and will discuss how politicians and developers should play a vital role in supporting public spaces.
But, what if the relationship between architects and landscape architects is strengthened? What if we change our mindset? What if instead of having fear to bold landscape intervention we embrace them? Why do we have so many contemporary architectural landmarks in popular culture and so few landscape interventions? Time: 15:00 BST
