Beth Chatto
Beth Chatto is best known for her pioneering, ecological approach to gardening. In a special edition of Woman’s Hour Martha Kearney visits Beth Chatto at her gardens in Elmstead Market, Essex to hear how she created one of Britain’s best-loved gardens. she explains how she came up with the concept. Her philosophy was developed in the 1960s but seems even more relevant to gardeners today given regular hose pipe bans and climate change. Originally broadcast in 2008.
