Bat Ecology & Survey Techniques
Learn all about British bats and how to survey them under the guidance of Surrey Wildlife Trust’s Wilder Schools Team Leader and 'everything bat' enthusiast Emma Rothwell. She will begin the evening in the classroom sharing loads of information about the different species of bat that we have here in the UK including their life cycle, habitats and top tips for how to identify them. She will then show how Surrey Wildlife Trust's Ecology Services team conducts professional bat surveys using technology to accurately record their findings. You will then have a go at completing a bat survey using your newly gained knowledge for an hour in the woods monitoring the bat activity of Nower Wood.
