Not All Roses are Romantic

Not All Roses are Romantic

To celebrate London Craft Week, the Garden Museum have a special week-long installation with performances inspired by Wild & Cultivated: Fashioning the Rose which will explore the relationship between humans, roses, femininity and the natural world.
Centred around conceptual shoemaker Jo Cope’s hand-crafted leather Feminist Rose - which is inspired by the French philosopher George Bataille’s declaration that roses are repugnant and paradoxical; when the petals are stripped away all that is left is a ‘sordid tuft’ - the installation will incorporate flowers arranged by sustainable floral designer Shane Connolly.

Time: Mon-Sun 10:00-17:00 BST
