A Feminist Guide to Fungi

A Feminist Guide to Fungi

Join London Drawing Group's Luisa Maria MacCormack for a deep dive into the magical interspecies world of fungi.
In this talk, Luisa will guide us through a feminist history of our interspecies friendship with fungi, examining the history of foraging, cooking, growing, researching and even the life cycles of fungi themselves through a feminist lens. From the network of roots and fungi connecting trees beneath every forest known as the ‘wood wide web’, to a history of psychedelia, we will explore the ways that fungi intersect with human experience, and how that relates to feminist critical theory.
The session will also explore the histories of some incredible female scientists whose research has changed the scientific world of mycology forever.

Time: 19:00 BST
