Landscape and Performance Art: Earth as Mother or Lover
Guest lecturer, Hollie Miller will share images and thoughts on some iconic feminist performance artists that inspired her own performances in landscape with nature. She will discuss how these artists used the materiality of rocks, mud and organic matter in relation to the vulnerability of their naked flesh to engage with sensitive topics surrounding the female body. This London Drawing Group talk will touch on site-responsive performance making and performing to/with the camera to question what defines performance if the audience is not present and the importance of documentation of live work for performance legacy.
