Walk the Line: Reimagining English Landscapes
In this online event join three exploratory writers who chart their experience of English terrain in new and exciting ways
In Heavy Time, to be published June 2021, Sonia Overall treads the line between creative inspiration and spiritual intervention as she examines what pilgrimage can mean to the secular walker. She is founder of the Women Who Walk network of walking artists and academics. Justin Hopper's The Old Weird Albion moves across the Sussex and Hampshire Downs, interrogating the high, haunted landscape of the English South. And finally, in The Girl Who Forgets How to Walk, Kate Davis writes magical realist poems born of the hills, marshes and coastal edgelands of south Cumbria.
The conversation will be chaired by creative producer and 'cultural omnivore' Georgia Attlesey and will feature readings from each writer.
This is an online event that will be conducted via Zoom. Tickets are pay as you feel.
